GLSEN Releases Report on LGBT Families' Experiences in Schools

The first comprehensive report on LGBT families' experiences in education, Involved, Invisible, Ignored: The Experiences of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Parents and Their Children in Our Nation's K-12 Schools, was released late last month.  This U.S. study has found that LGBT parents are more likely to be involved in their children's K-12 education than the general parent population. At the same time, both LGBT parents and their children often report harassment because of their family structure.

The report was produced by GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network), in partnership with the Family Equality Council and COLAGE (Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere).
The Ten Oaks Project is a not-for-profit, charitable organization. Our mission is to engage and connect children and youth from LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, two-spirit, queer) communities through programs and activities rooted in play.
